A guy from BC, Canada -- apparently he made an offer that he thought wouldn't be accepted, but it was. . .

Though this is a "once in a lifetime" lens, it's way too big for me. . . 150mm front element 19 lbs and $9K

I'm fine with my 300/2.8s.

I couldn't believe that he got it for a little more than half the price it was selling at. It's still way out of my league, but amazing none-the-less.

If you don't mind me asking, do you buy lenses on E-bay??? Do you have any thoughts or opinions about lenses on e-bay? I never have bought from e-bay, but I have very close friend, back in Plymouth, England where I used to live... he buys a lot of things of e-bay. Just that when it comes to lenses... well, seems like a interesting idea.

Take care and thanks.

I buy most of my used lenses from Ebay.
eskin09m4

I buy most of my new lenses from B&H Photo Video. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

If you buy on Ebay.. first check the new price from several online stores as sometime people will jack the price up to sell to the unwary. Ask here before you buy something. Just PM some of us with the URL to the lens on Ebay and we will give you our opinion. Just be safe with your personal info and use PayPal when you can.

Many thanks, Ed. I would have to weigh the value of dollar vs. the EUR, but the problem is, customs would charge me 22.5 sales tax. At present, I am eyeing the Pentax K-7 at 656 EUR which is far better than 949 EUR... with that savings, I could put it towards a good lense for sure... I just keep scratching my head at to which lense to get... I do need some versatile like the 16-45 or the 17-70. I also have been looking at a Tamron 90 that has great reviews and ratings. Thanks for the info and help. All the best. Ned
