Default new travel lens

Hi all,
I'm going o/s and have been looking for a new walk around lens, my 24-70 sigma lens has not been giving good clear images that it has in the past. I bought a new Pentax smc FA 28-105 f4-5.6 if. Silver in colour plastic construction, it is giving me clear images. Does anyone have any history with one of these lens?

I bought one for my film camera (MZ5n) years ago. When I went digital (*istDS) I firstly preferred The Tamron 28-300 as a walkaround lens but the first time I had the opportunity to compare the two lenses I was really surprised by the quality of the 28-105. It is also a good performer on the K10D. I'm really satisfied with it. Also from a mechanical standpoint, plastic parts seem to be mounted with tight tolerances and do not "shake" too much. Together with the Sigma 10-20 it became my standard outdoor set (mainly portraits, nature/landscapes and architecture).

Thanks Dawg, I think it is ok, it was an ebay Oz purchase A$141.00 new, I thought it an ok price.

Hi dam59, Thanks for you reply, I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried the lens, I have expected the it to be a bit of a dog, no offence Dawg, but thought at that price with warranty it was worth the gamble and it certainly light enough to leave on the camera all the time.
