Default How's this for a telephoto shot???

Hiya! Broke out my 55 - 200 kit lens. Here are two pictures I took. It was the best I could laying on my side to get these. Except for resizing, I was very, very hesitant to do ANY post-processing... but if you any ideas, or advice on improving the composition, I'd appreciate it. I am not very good at shooting flowers, but I would like to learn.

All the best.

Ned

Here's a couple more shots, with the telephoto kit lens. I went to the waterfront... I would have liked to composed a better picture of the ship, but it was either this or fall into the water. Regarding the bridge, I took the liberty of backing up and framing in a tree to my left to make the shot a little more interesting..

All the best.

Ned - Looks like you are getting the hang of that new camera very quickly! That first Tulip photo is outstanding - such color & light, and such a fine background to set it off. And I really enjoyed the lines and movement, as well as the clarity, in the bridge photo! Keep up the great work!

Thanks Mole. So, the leaves are not too tacky for the picture?? I just felt they would add to the shot. As for the composition of the first flower shot... I tend to feel that the leaves below enhance the photo... I felt hard-pressed to do anything different... just didn't seem good to zoom further in or out without complicating the picture so I chose this composition. Glad you liked it. All the best. Ned

Hey Ned! About the boat, get your speedos on and get in the water

Skämt åsido!

I really like all of these pics. Seems to be a good lens you got ther. And the composition of all your pics is great.

Take care.

Thought I had already replied to this thread, but apparently not. These are really nice, it looks like you are getting better results with the 50-200. I do like your tulips, but for some reason I like the bridge best. That's not my type of thing at all, but the picture appeals to me for some reason.
