Default New Pentax lens 12-35mm on the horizon ?

Sounds interesting. Wonder if Tokina will get their version with Nikon / Canon mounts and if this lens will replace the Pentax and Tokina 12-24 mm ?

Although the word is that price wise....less expensive than a DA *....but although the 12-24mm isn't a DA* it (12-24) seems to be in the same performance / price (esp. Canada) range.

I wonder where this 12-35mm will fit....maybe replace the 16-45...or has the 17-70mm done that ?

I don't know....just speculation....on it's place, on my part.

for someone who has every range covered from 24mm-300mm in sharp, pro quality glass, this lens seems to be a bad influence to a recovering lba addict.

infact, its almost too perfect for my needs, I have considered the 12-24 but the 12-35 seems to put a few extra sprinkles on an already fine dessert. I will of course wait for the reviews and price drops

Drat! I've only owned my DA 12-24 for a few months! I knew this would happen!

Me too...I've had my 12-24 since May, 2010....but this new lens would have to be exceptional to even think of changing.

My 12-24 hasn't been off my K10D since then....the 12-24mm is a phenomenal lens.
