Default Q7 + 07 lens

First snaps (hand held quickies) with both the Q7 and the 07 "mount shield" lens (never try two things together for the first time - you never know which to blame). This "pancake" lens (a fixed focus glass pinhole lens) is designed for close ups to be sharp (?) in the middle and blurred (faux bokeh) at the edges. Hard to find the focus point in bright sun when you can hardly see the LCD. This may not have been a fair test - it does what it is supposed to, but so far I am not impressed.

I agree and so far I've passed on the 07, now the Q7 that's a different story I'm still trying to talk myself into one, waiting for a price drop

I was really interested in the 07 lens when it was first announced, but it does seem to have its issues and limitations. The Q7 seems very cool though. I'm like Hans, waiting for the price to drop and to have my budget recover from buying the K3 and DA 16-50. That could take a while!

I think the Q7 was the last of Pentax's 12 one-a-day specials that I took advantage of to get the improved IQ that the Q7 offers. The 07 was out of curiosity, since it is a unique lens - If I am ever feeling "arty", I might try to do something to unlock its true potential. At least they could have provided a lens cap to glass clean if they intended this to serve as a body cap too.

Take a look at these to see what one of Sony's similarly small mirrorless ILC Nex cameras can do:
