I'm hoping that Pentax brings out more digital telephot prime and zoom lenses.

Interesting. Wonder how it'll work - I'm sure it's not an end-all correction, but it would sure be nice to touch up some macros I've taken where the focus was just a bit off...

I would expect that the down side is that it is slow having to store all that info for later use. Like the Fuji S5 built on the D200 frame, it uses two sensors and then puts the info together in the camera to get higher resolution and DR, but it is very slow.

That is one cool feature!I can't count the number of sports shots I've had that have been "just a little bit" back or front focused because I missed the proper player in a group.

I don't think this will be very popular, my photos are always in perfect focus, maybe not what I was actually looking at but ....:-)

That is an interesting concept. However, if you can adjust the focus after the fact, why not have the entire photo in focus? There would be times (portraits) when you would not want unlimited focus but for something like sports photography it would be great.
I really wonder how it works though. I can't see how the sensor can see detail that is not transmited by the lens to begin with and no technology is going to change the properties of light. The only way I could see this working would be if the camera used the autofocus to "bracket" focus (over multiple shots) in the same way that camera currently bracket exposure. Tim |
