Iwas absent because of a funeral :sad:and found last sunday some rest in nature to think everything over what happend last week. I made also some shots but that was not why I was sitting there!
I found a new bird and I think it is a great waterbird. I find this one so cute that I place it directly behind theKingfisher which I like very much. This bird is shyer then a KF but when you know where it is sitting you can come back next day and you will find it back again. It can take several hours before he / she is showing himself but when you see it he/ sheis worth the wait! We have now for some days only cloudy weather ![]() I hope you like these ones! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also I saw some flying things :-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And finally a kestrel streching herself :-) ![]() regards Walter |

I find that it is often during trying times that we are at our most creative. You have captured some marvelous images at a time when photography was not your focus but was instead an outlet, a temporary respite from the troubles surrounding you. I would like to extend my condolences and at the same time congratulations on these great images.

I can't think of anything to add to what Ira said, I agree with him.
These pictures are awesome, I love your water rail, but your Great Egret (think it's the same bird) in flight is my favorite. The detail in its wings is just incredible to me (and they are one of my favorite birds). |

Walter, Thank you for posting in spite of the difficult situation in which you find yourself. Those are wonderful pictures that show the creativity not only of the photographer, but also of the Creator. Excellent shots of beautiful creatures. Thanks again.

Hi Walter,
I was sorry to hear about your loss. Your bird images have a "portrait" quality that's hard to describe -- but I guess "awesome" will do . . . What do you use for your framing? -- it really finishes off the shot IMO. Hope things are well with you. . . Scott |

Quality work and particularly precious is the pict of the two herons in flight.
Maybe the exercise gives you a chance to get over the sense of loss you have temporarily. Keep posting and thanks for sharing Daniel , Toronto |
