glenn, i didn't say i didn't get good shots. just not all the ones i'd expect. there's 15 shots posted at the link i gave with some more to come..
P, you're right but i still prefer to use manual when taking close ups. i've tried AF and missed even more. i should have bumped the lens up to f11 also.. i think some of the problem was using a new lens also.. roy |

here's an interesting plant. outside the observatory there are about a dozen of these chias.. i'll try and get back in a month to see them when all have bloomed..

The BFs are beautiful, the Blue Morpho with folded wings also a beautiful shot. Can you provide us with a closeup of the plant's flowers and leafs?

I was thinking of the last one with the blue flowers. On closer inspection I see thatit is nota bush, but some substrate formed as a butterfly with pansies on it.
The first of your new ones looks like a Heliconia species, I don't know what the second is. But it's beautiful. Kjell |

I think those are nice Roy, and I know what you mean about the glasses issue. I have to take mine off for anything closer than 5 feet which is becoming a real pain. I can't wait to leave them someplace where I set them down.
