I've been promising to post these shots for over a week now, and am finally getting around to it. We had heard of the poppy fields in the Tehachapi Range back in 1988 when we moved out here from the midwest and always wanted to go. But, for various reasons, never got there until this year. I had heard that it was going to be a good year for the wildflowers and the state park service web site posted that the weekend before last was going to be the peak of the season. So, we headed over there that Friday.
A couple of stitched panoramas - 2 18mm shots merged with Image Expert: ![]() ![]() Some closeups with a 50mm, f1.7 prime lens: ![]() ![]() ![]() There were ALOT of photographers there that day, and hence, I kinda liked this shot: ![]() One more: ![]() |

Wow, we don't see anything like this in Joisey.
The closeups of the poppies are particularly beautiful. I love the color. |

Oooh - very nice! I reallylike the first panorama, but you might try adjusting the levels (contrast)a bit and it would bring the bright yellow out more. That yellow is REALLY bright, as is the orange of the California poppies. Your close-ups are wonderful - the 50mm sure did a nice job. Does anyone know what that prettypurple/blue flower is? And the photographers are priceless.
It looks like your trip was very successful! |
