not a great shot by any stretch of the imagination & it has been cropped to emphasize the young boy's (in the lower left corner) expression but thought it was interesting none of the less. Oh BTW, this was taken this AM, at the Centralia (IL) Balloonfest.

This is not an entry since it was shot by my wife Annette, I was busy acting as ballast to hold down the gondola of this balloon. This is a very big face ;-) I thought it would make a great excuse to bump this to the top.

Here's one I took the weekend before last at the Sterling Renaissance Festival. This is the sword swallower after swallowing a giant spoon.

Can you enlighten me as to how you did that? It looks great now.. I imagine USM mean something like unsharpening mask? (you'd think it should be called sharpening mask as it sharpens) |

Not Unsharpening but Unsharp Mask. Tehcnically correct term, but please! someone else explain why.
You find it under the "Filters" menu in PS or PSE. There are three levers, just pull and try them and you'll find out how it works. I usually keep the upper between 50–200%, and the lower two at around 1, max 3. There are a number of online tutorials, but I can't direct you to them since I so far only have used my christmas gift book by Scott Kelby. Someone want to fill in? Kjell |
