Spent the morning at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati today which was hosting their annual Aviation Days. Here are a few: DL with Sigma 70-300 APO DG.

Love the series - there's something about being face to face with a big jet that's somehow unnerving, though. Well captured.

Nice creativeimages - aviation photography is a field in itself. Air shows out here are so crowded, you can't get a clear shot at anything for all the people.

Pretty nice! I was up there a few years ago. Did the guys in the 3 trainers put on a show? I have met 2 of them a few times. They are based there at LUK.
If you want some more T6/SNJ shots or maybe some shots of Hurry Home Honey, they are regularly out and about at LEX. |

Thanks all for the comments.
Phil: your comment aboutthe upcoming post has me intrigued! Penolta: True true about the crowds at thebig air shows. This event was a small scale affair with mostly static displays of general aviation and vintage military aircraft. I think other photographers had the same idea as me in showing up with their gear to take advantage of the smaller crowds. Last big airshow I went to was in Dayton where the USAF Thunderbirds performed. Sgarthee: Nothing in the way of a show by the trainers when I was there. I happened to catch them as soon as they landed and taxied.I used to live in LEX about 12 years ago but never made it to Bluegrass Field for any of their events. I now live about 15 minutes from CVG in Northern KY which is a nice place to view the big jets. Jay |
