I just re-added the FA 50mm f/1.4 to my lens collection. The first time I had it, I didn't use it very much. But I intend to this time around

Shot wide open @ f/1.4 $ 1/45sec ISO 200

1/45 at f1.4, it must have been some pretty dim light! My honest comment would have to be that I think you needed a little more depth of field for this shot. It looks like the small set of leaves to the lower right of the main cluster of flowers is sharply focused but the flowers themselves are a little soft.

Either theF 50mm 1.7 andor my wife'sFA 50mm 1.4 is always in the camera bag. They are great lenses. I generally don't go lower than f/2 on either and they seem to be at their sharpest around 4 or 5.6.

I agree with Tim. I'd use a smaller aperture and bump up the ISO if lighting doesn't improve to have a decent shutter speed. You are off to a good start.
