Hi all,
Last week I posted some shots of some very young barn swallow bablies -- http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...mp;forum_id=80 Went back exactly one week later to see if I could get some shots of how they're doing. . . and I was shocked at the growth and maturity after only 7 days. . . ![]() The three were still there, now looking almost like adults! But ------ there were actually four! ![]() ![]() . . . and outside there were about 8 fledglings, just hangin out, comparing their new flying licenses . . . -- but by the time I could get close enough, most of them took off. ![]() Scott |

Hi penolta, Roger, and Rodney,
I'm getting used to how fast baby birds grow, now that I've had a chance to witness some of their development first hand, but still find it amazing. Thanks for looking, and the comments. I doubt that I'll be able to get back to them before they are out on their own. . . ![]() Scott |

Scott,
The 2nd and 3rd one are cutie. All are great shots. All baby birds are very photogenic I believe. It is very humid in Toronto and I have not been shooting any macro or wildlife at all lately. Hard to find time to head out to the field Daniel, Toronto |

Good suggestion -- one that shouldn't have had to be made -- I definitely need to start learning more about the birds that I shoot, and should have done the research -- the info's easy enough to get. . . Barn Swallows fledge at 20 days after hatching, and then are cared for by their parents for another 2 weeks before they are totally independent -- so I probably have a little while before they leave the nest forever. Thanks Scott |
