Primes will give you sharper images no doubt...But the Bigma gives you the zoom advantage if you only have one lens to carry.

A good example of that lens power. FWIW
i thought I had the 1.4 tele OOF figured out. I had two Cardinals in my yard today with perfect bright sunshine. Using the Tam 18-250 and the Tam 1.4 tele I took about 30 photos. Every one was OOF. Did some reading and found that my tele will only AF to 135mm or using an aperature of 4.5 or less. To overcome this you have to focus manually. I tried this and it is a pain but works. Hope this helps. |

All I can say is WOW! And, my husband wonders why I want more than 80 mm. (I actually have 200, but he thought 80 was more than enough.):-)
