We have a bright but still cloudy day and I still have problem with the bokeh . If it is more creamy it would have been perfect

Nice ones Daniel.. How far away were you? Distance can affect the Bokeh.
PS...Where is you pic in the your pic thread? Dawg |

The bokeh isn't all that bad since the subject looks great! Just make believe its some sort of impressionistic thing!

Pic 1 is a great capture. It's funny but I don't mind the bokeh at all, for me it just emphasises the subject.
I just hope you ducked in time! Keith |

Keith, Glenn & Dawg, Thanks for taking time to comment. The bokeh is likely more the result of the cropping Keith: they were say 40 ft away and the pict was a cropped one. I have no clue if the one (below) is more captivating. The first one has the back light, full wing and tail details. This one is another story ![]() Quote:

I don't find the bokeh that distracting in the first one or the last one. You can always try blurring the background some (I usually copy the background layer, blur the top layer, then apply a mask to the top layer and "paint out" what I don't want blurred, or do it the other way around where I blur the background layer after copying and perhaps sharpening the top layer also). Even the second one isn't as bad as what I've gotten a couple of times when I've taken squirrels or flowers above a pine needle background.

I agree, the first one looks just fine to me.

Daniel, I also like the first shot, great capture. My only issue is with the line that crosses the background, too bad it is so obvious. Maybe a little smudging or cloning could mute it a little.
