Nice shots with the setup, at least it is nice inside since the sun no longer shines around here.

Good shots! I always like your bb shots, shows just what you can do with a Pentax indoors.

Second shot looks soft and the shutter speeds are a bit slow to get the action to freeze and get a sharp shot.
Sport shots have more impact with tighter crops and face(s) in them capturing the emotion of the player(s). It also appears you used the action mode to get these shots thus the shot being at f2 and slower shutter speed. I would use manual settings next time or shutter priority. Shutter speed should be 1/500th of a second or higher and boosting the iso to 1600 would help too. Being that it is 50mm you can only go so far in getting a tight action shot. |

The trade off of course is noise. This gym is incredibly dark and, if I shot in manual mode trying to achieve the shutter speeds you suggest, the shots would have been at ISO 3200 and the noise levels are just too high to deal with (even in PP). So, I takemy "chances" at the slower shutter speeds and lower ISO and I manage to get quite a few good shots.

Given the information after the fact of my comments makes what I said to be a moot point.
Based on what you had to work with conditions wise I would say that these are shots most other cameras would miss. |
