Ok, I know this one gets put to shame by the ones I see here, but I chased this little one aroundfor a while shooting offhand with my Tamron 75-300. It definitely could be sharper, but I am getting better little by little! I am still a bit proud of this one.

Eddie, Butterflys are almost impossible to get in flight unless you go to a butterfly farm and get lucky. They are way too quick, so I think that is a great picture!

Considering how fast and erratic Fritillaries are, this is not bad - it may be a savable image. Someone more adept with PHotoshop could probably do better, but Itook the liberty of doinga bit of quick and dirty tinkering withthe image inPE2- I hope you don't mind.

I agree that the image is a little soft and a little OOF, however I like it, as I have never seen such a shot before.
Congrats on a difficult capture. Dal |

Great shot, I've tried but never gotten anywhere as close as this shot.
Because it was only slight out of focus I could restore a bit of sharpness using focusmagic, and then some noise ninja on the background. I'll remove it if you want. Ronny |

Hi,
Must be the first I've seen of a butterfly in flight, and it's very good. Very slightly OOF ... Hope you don't mind I did the PS bit ... set levels, corrected slight OOF with focus magic, added slight saturation, overall noise filtering with noiseware pro introduced a halo so I discarded that. Here's the result ... Jack. |
