Carl Zeiss lenses are available for Pentax K mount. Functionally equivalent to A-series lenses if I read it correctly, every feature except autofocus. These lenses are among the best, and most expensive, available and only Pentax DSLRs offer full compatability with these lenses. Sony has some of these available in full AF form for its Alpha series as well. I don't see any Canon compatability, except through a mount adaptor. Just an FYI folks, I'll stick with the much more affordable Pentax glass. Ira |

I had actually considered the Zeiss 100mm macro - but couldn't quite justify spending that much for the name (though it sounds like it would be a nice lens). Then I saw the "new"Vivitar Series 1 macro for sale and bought that for considerably less. Maybe some day I'll win the lottery and buy a Zeiss lens. It would be great to have one of them.

I'm completely happy with the Viv- if I were able to get one of the Carl Zeiss lenses now it would be something else. The Viv is a wonderful macro lens and I've been having such fun with it - can't ask for more than that.

Over priced and just for those who want to say they have one....Keep my Viv's Tammy's and Takumars. Saw the news of the new Carl's on Easysharer's forum about two weeks ago....Way too costly for what they deliver.
