Ok, little confused. According to the Promaster site the Promaster 7500EDF is not a P-TTL flash, yet they say it will work with the K10D which is a P-TTL and not a plain TTL camera. What gives?

There is a link on the Promaster web site called ask the flash expert: http://www.promaster.com/ContactForm.asp?FormType=Flash

It's a fillable form, ask them your question above, and they should get back to you in a few days. When Iwas considering the 7500DX for my Konica-Minolta I had uncertainty as to whether it would work. It took a few days, but they did get back to me. P-TTL uses a pre-flash for the camera's sensor to "pre"-determine what the flash parameter should be. I can confirm that the 7500DX uses a pre-flash, at least on the KM dedicated model. I would think that their newer release (7500EDF) will work in P-TTL mode, but you would be advised to ask first.
At the time of my p[urchase I had a newer KM camera (A200) andPromaster did not list it as compatible with the 7500DX flash. So I asked them about it. They actually test their flash on the camera and then determine if it works. Which it did, so I bought one. They seem pretty honest. If they list the camera as compatible, I would trust that it is.

They do list it the latest and some older Pentax's as being compatible with that flash. It is in the compatibility chart which was last updated in Oct 2007.

Thanks for the info.
