Hey everyone, I just got finished throwing together a webpage. It's mainly for the parents of the local baseball games that I have attempted to photograph, several of them have shown interest in purchasing some photos, so I threw this together since I had the day off.
http://www.owensbyphoto.com Any suggestions/help/questions/comments/criticism would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you spot any errors, let me know. I have been staring at the thing way too long to even be able to notice the errors. LOL Nick ALSO: If anyone has any suggestions on creating an online order form, feel free to share! I am at a complete loss on how to make one. |

Can't help you with the order form, but I sure liked your baseball pictures! I have absolutely no experience with this type of thing, so take this for what it's worth (not much) - I thought your watermark across the thumbnails were a little too obtrusive - maybe have it a little more transparent. But since I'm totally clueless on this type of thing, I'd be interested in what others think about it.

A couple of points:
a) if you do not have the order form don't advertise the fact with teh underconstruction device. Just comment out the navigation button so it does not go to an unfunctional page. b) add more text so Google searches will find you: In the page header add a description met tag, that summ sup your site. Put more of an explanation near the top of the page that includes words and phrases likley to be used for people searching fo rwhat you have to offer. Caption your pictures as text is needed to search for images. Lose the opening page, it does nothing but slow users down in getting to the meat of your site. The photo, on what should be the first page, is far more impressive. Hide your email adress from automated trollers by using a simple java script such as the one below to avoid getting more spam and junk mail <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- var addr1 = "mailto:" var addr2 = "phil" var addr3 = "@" var addr4 = "philnortheast.com" document.write('<a href =" '+ addr1 + addr2 + addr3 + addr4 + '" >') document.write('Contact Northeast Media </a>') //--> </script> |

Thanks Phil...
a) Took the "under construction" off of the ordering page. b) I have text in the metatag for the home page, Should I put that same text in the metatag for all the other pages? I come up on a google search ![]() c) Not sure about the text captions, because I don't know the kids names... lol d) No more opening page! e) Email addresses are hidded from bots. Thanks! |
