Here are four photographs I just took of some Christmas wrapping paper that has a lot of lettering.
I'm trying to see if the focus is even across the lens. They look ok to me but my old eyes can be deceptive. All taken at f/4 approx 1/10 - 1/20 and ISO 400. ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() Your help will be most appreciated. Thanks Ed |

I picked one of the sayings (Naughty or Nice) and looked at it in all the different places it appeared. I don't really see any difference in focus no matter where in the frame it appeared. Are you having reasons to question the lens?

Nope, just all of the talk of centering defects has me, I guess, concerned.
Thanks, Ed |

It looks good to me, I don't notice anything. The problem I had with my DA 50-200 wasn't so noticeable with something like this - I noticed it when I was outside and shooting more at infinity. Try that and see if one side looks blurry compared to the other side.

Ed, Not to sound contrarian, but...on my monitor, it appears that the upperhalf of the image is not as sharp as the bottom half. I see it especially in the "Jingle Bells". I also see some mild "out of focus" from left to right especially noticeable in the "Twinkle Twinkle." FYI I'm on a LCD (flat screen)monitor which I have recentlyconfirmedvia a calibration program to be in good working order. Hope this helps!Jay

I'll redo to bright and increse the sharpness and try again. Hopefully, that will give a better idea. |
