This can buy you a name in the branch, Harriet. Never saw such good droplet shots before (excepting your old PotD), esp #4&5.

Thank you all for your compliments. It doesmake a differenceto have a flash with small stuff, and I love having the wireless flash capability. I'm still not quite good at judging things yet (I'm moreat thetry and see if it works stage, just don't know enough). It does make it possible to handhold pictures that I would otherwise not manage since it allows me to use a smaller aperture and get more DOF.

I don't remember if I was using my walking stick for the K20 pictures or not. I know that I did for the K10 and K100 pictures (the spider web was with the K10 and the last one with the K100). Roy was the one who mentioned it - hold a stick and camerain the left hand, and you've added a third point of support (slide your hand on the stick up or down to fix the camera's height). Right hand holds the camera and operates the shutter. Get approximate focus before getting into position, then lean in and out to get the final focus (in macro photography the DOF is so small, focus point can be a matter of an inch or two). My hands aren't big enough to operate the focus on a lens and hold a stick, too.

Oh, I could barely catch the second page of this thread started by your amazing drop macros: )

The 'fish eye'sights of the greenery in them, especially, appealed to me
