I just tested my FA 35 f2 and FA50 f1.4 on my DS, DL and a K100D Super. The DS had many focus errors, the DL was usually spot-on, as was the K100D Super. Strangely if I set the focus point to anything but the centre spot the focus was more accurate? Can a single focus point be off somehow? Any theories? I may end up only using the fast primes with the DL and using the zooms on the DS (slower lenses seem to focus fine).
Confused. Ira |

Ira,
I have had no such issues with my DS, using a FA50mm 1.7, FA* 28-80 2.8, FA* 80-200 2.8, Tamron 90mm Macro 2.8, Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 and a A* 85mm 1.4. It also has been spot on with any of the slower lenses I have used with it no matter which focus spot I used. Now my K10D was all over the map with fast lenses wide open, but not my DS. Tom |

Mine seems to have problems with the two fast primes but seems to be accurate otherwise. The weird thing is that the 8 cross sensors surrounding the centre one all seem to be very accurate. Go figure !?!

Maybe your center focus point isn't exactly in the center - have you tried to see if it's more accurate slightly off from center? I've heard of that happening. I didn't have a fast AF lens when I had my DS so I can't help you. The K10 sometimes seems to be a bit off for me with the DA 50-135, but I'm starting to think it might have to do with thephotographer and thecondition of my batteries because the lens is fine with the K100, and it's fine with the kit lens (the only other AF lens I'm using at the moment).

The centre point on my K10D is also off just slightly.
More noticeable when trying to focus on an eye, or through a cage. I have to tilt the camera slightly to get it spot on, or the camera will focus on something else. The other focus points seem fine, so it is something to live with. Just anoying when I forget!! Dal |

Thanks Roy, some day when I am brave enough...
I can still use the other focus points and recompose in the mean time. Ira |
