Hello,

I just bought a couple of filters to use with my 18-55 and 50-200 lens. I bought a cir. polarizer, a UV (for general lens protection) and a cokin Grad. ND filter (with holders and ring).

Can someone offer some suggestions about using the polarizer to reduce reflections off of glass? I have tried it several times and while I can darken the sky (nice) I haven't been able to do anything to reduce the reflections.

Also any suggestions on the ND filter. I got it mostly to have darker skies without darkening the lower part of the shot.

Any suggestions on these would be much appriceated.

Hi Robert,

With the CP turning at the reflector to remove reflections works, but you have to haven an angle to the glass. When taking a shot at 90° the result will be the less, around 45° normally gives the best result.

A nice article on using the nd, can be found here.

Thanks for the link it does look like a good article. I will definately read that. As for the polariser, I guess I am just going to have to play. It seems the angle is important.
