The kit lens does fairly well as a close-up lens, especially with flowers.
I've been experimenting with flowers and flash, but I'm still not quite where I want to be yet. I'm convinced that flash can really help - I can use lower ISO levels and faster shutter speeds (or a smaller aperture), which makes for better, sharper pictures. So often I find that the flash (I have the 560)is too hot for what I want, but changing the Ev on the flash just makes the picture underexposed, rather than lowering the "hotness" of it. I've tried using mylar for a diffuser, but one layer (while it helps) isn't enough. I've recently been able to scrounge some more so I'll try a couple of layers and see if I can get what I want. I did check out flash diffusers at Bel Air Camera at lunch today (they also have all kinds of bounce cards, too, that looked interesting, too). |

Hi Albreca,
I posted some Close-up/Near macro shots from my early days on this forum all were done with a kit lens + a rather good 2 element +10 dioptre by Hoya, I was very pleased with the results at the time. I like using the kit lens very much. Here's the link Steves-digicams.com Forums > Digital SLR Cameras > Pentax / Samsung dSLR > New to this board and the K100D Hope you like ... Jack |
