Yesterday I had a chance to take some pictures of aquarium fish. It turned out harder than I had expected, and I wasn't completely happy with the results. I've been quite happy with the K20's jpg pictures, so rather than using raw+, I shot strictly jpg - because of the difficult lighting I wish I hadn't changed. Here are a few that came out OK:

These two rays are well camouflaged.

There were all kinds of fish, both small (as above) and large:

The Monterey Aquarium also has a small display of shore birds. I don't think of Kildeers as shore birds, but they are common to the area. Too bad the monthly challenge isn't still reflections or I would submit this one:

Last one - I'm using my laptop and it doesn't have the best monitor. When I get home I'll have to look at these again, to make sure I got the color right. If they look off, let me know. Some day I'll replace this old laptop for a newer computer, and hopefully the new one will have a better monitor.
Finally, another jellyfish. I really had trouble getting pictures of them that were useable. This one isn't the best, butI like the color. |

from my experience aquariums are some of the most difficult conditions to shoot in. they are usually dimly lit, have multiple reflections, the subjects are always moving and you can't use a flash. with that said, i think your photos are terrific! i really like the last one!

I agree with Ishino. I've had aquariums and fish since aged nine, and I have but a very few pictures, got tired of trying. Yours are awesome!
