Hi All,

Wasn't expecting to do any birding, but saw a Great Egret from the balcony of my mom's place, and said "Why not?". . .

Had to stalk carefully, and got pretty close, but it kept on taking off, just flying far enough away to keep me trying. There was little cover around the lake except in two areas.

I got some shots, but nothing different or unusual, until this. . .

Shot with the DS. . . and the Sig 17-70 (at 70mm of course, and this is a 1/4 frame crop)

It was a good experience in stalking, but I really missed having some of the long glass. . . call me lazy. . .

Wonderful picture! All your stalking paid off with a unique shot of a bird that's hard to photograph at the best of times.
