Thanks Jack. I don't have PS, but I do have a couple of other programs I can play with. I still need to learn how to use layers. Just don't seem to have to time to get to it. Thanks again for the ideas!

Ok Glenn glad you like, I made a point of using PS exclusively two or three years back, don't know how I'd manage without using layers now, it's become an automatic process, you have to bite the bullet, and head up that steep learning curve, I don't think you ever really finish with PS. ... Jack

wonder where you got that jack??? lol i've always said, get a decent graphics program that supports layersand stick to just it. there are a couple that are free that are almost as powerful as PS. they're is a plethora of programs out there that only do 1 thing well. download them and see what they do. THEN use your program to duplicate how they do it. here is a poor blur background. it's quick and bad because i used too big of a brush to do it. it can be done very selectively. roy |

I like all three shots, great stop motion captures. This discussion on improving the third shot has been beneficial to me also, so thanks everyone who contributed to it.

Here is a side by side example showing an original out-of-camera file and a file that has been selectively blurred and sharpened (and the levels adjusted). This is just to show how much change can be accomplished with simple tools and adjustments.

It may be my work monitor, but the Before and After both look the same.
