Help pick a flyer photo (please)
I was asked to do a photo with a Osprey & the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad train for the Osprey Express. This is a special train for the folks that come to the Osprey Fest 2007. My two attempts at combining two photos to show the train and a Osprey. ![]() or ![]() thanks TOTALLY WACKY roger |

Without hesitation I pick #2.
# 1 is a very nice picture of a steam locomotive and an osprey. # 2 makes me dream about vast plains and mountain ranges, and a romantic steam express train to take me across it to get to Ospreyland. Kjell |

Hi Roger
#2 for me too. But IMHO scale the osprey down just a little bit. Geir |

Hi Roger,
I agree with #2, and also with the scaling down of the osprey, but I'd take it a little further -- I'd also cut the contrast on the bird a bit, maybe soften it a tad with very low level gaussian blur, and maybe even apply a softening brush with low opacity to the edges of the bird after applying it to make it blend a little better. I realize that you're not trying to make this a believable single shot, but I always thought that making it subtle actually brings more attention to it. Scott |

I'm with the others here. Number 2 for sure Roger. Definitely scale it down a little.

Definitely #2 for me, too. While I'd scale it down some, I wouldn't scale it down too much - I like the fantasy type of effect having it oversized gives to the picture, and the bird's "pose" is perfect for the picture.

I don't agree with the suggestion to downscale the osprey – I think it's the main subject and should be a bit dominating. This is The Osprey Express – not a picture of a train with an osprey in the corner.
