The first will be un cropped and the second an extreme crop. I used the 400mm f/6.5 Alpex prime lens and a K10D. These were taken from between 30 and 40 feet away.

Are these 100% crops, or something a little less? I always get amazed at how much you can crop the K10 pictures to bring the subject closer to you.

Really nice, Bigdawg. Very crisp and good composition. I prefer the close crops because you can better see the bird's features.
I've seen exactly one of these little fellows in my yard this summer and I was fortunate enough to get a pretty good shot. |
