Beautiful capture.
Question: do you use AF when doing this kind of macro?

Seeing your shots, I reached out on my deck and just took this 1:1 macro with my new old Vivitar Series 1 105mm lens (no PP):

Here is a shot of the "surroundings". Ok, I grow them in a bag.

I use autofocus when I can but, for shots like the "airy" weeds, autofocus doesn't work so MF is the way to go. I spent this morning (Sunday) shooting some really nice spider webs, and you have to manual focu for them.

Your lady bugs seem to like milkweeds . . . . Send me some! The aphids have my milkweeds all to themselves:

No wonder I want a Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di , what great sharp shots.

Ditto here. I hope to upgrade one day from Vivitar Series 1 mainly for the autofocus and non-macro usage (portraiture). The Vivitar is a great macro but sucks at everything else, IMHO, at least when compared with modern lenses.
