I took two shots of one of our hybiscus blooms. One clear and one artsy. Which one do you like better and why?

For me no doubt, the clear one? Why? It looks better, can't explain it more precisely. Maybe if I could in words, there wouldn't need to be a picture!

I also like the clear one better, probably because I am not an artsy type of guy.

I prefer the first one with the stamen in focus. In the secon photo the pollen is in focus but is partially blocked off, the out of focus red is also not as pleasing.

The second one makes me think I'm lookin' at it without my glasses on...The first is so clear and sharp I'd be happy with it any time!

I agree with everyone else - I like the first one, too. But mainly because generally I don't like OOF things in front of the in-focus part.

Thanks Kjell, 2many, Ed, Dawg and Harriet. Now I just need a really nice macro lens to get those close-ups clearer. That was done with some close-up filters on the 50-200.

Like the first on best, the sharpness is outstanding, and I think that even with a dedicated lens it wil be a hard shot to beat.

Glenn, the first really does "pop" out of the screen! It's almost 3d! Very sharp but I likethe 2nd as well but not near as much as the 1st.
Thanks for sharing! Ron |
