i thought of that, the orientation, after i posted. i've been using my palm as support and trying to keep my fingers free for the focus ring, gawd it's tight, no room for error in such a small area you get to focus in. what is it?? maybe a third of a revolution?? it's tight.. it's good and bad at the same time.... i went out and got supplies to make a palm rest but it'll be too flimsy if i make it with this.. more ideas later.

My goodness, that's not a lens that's a telescope. Congratulations.

Roy, I know a kid in a candybar would be depressed compared to how you, rightfully, feel about this purchase. I'm impatiently waiting for the real shotsto comein due time, that is when the lens havetraveled from toy to tool.

i working on it. went back to work today and i'm hoping i'm at70% but i think that may be a dream. the heat has to abate some also.. i've yet to see any IQ harm from the small chips on the lens.. glad i took a chance.. i was wondering how i was going to swing the 300/4 when it came out. now i don't have to worry about it..
