Sometimes you find a pearl in the garbage out there. This is one the seller said was a Vivitar 55mm Sky 1A lens. Didn't even look through the Sky 1A filter to see the brand of lens he was selling. Gave a mercy bid and got it for less than peanuts. Works great!!!! Very sharp at distances of over 5 feet. Will make a very good portrait lens for sharp portraits. I've got a 135mm softie for those soft portraits. Any who...This ones a keeper for me as I like how well it works...Now the photog needs to get better...LOL

Though they grow in dirt peanuts aren't exactly dirt cheap these days....
![]() Looks like a good catch though.... and actually been quite happy with a just next gen JC Penny 135mm K/M also a 2.8 lens too. Somehow I would put the 3.5 135mm's (from examples seen and especially bassed on you same subject shots) in a comparisson range of the nice but basically kit 50mm f/2 M/A's were vs the much nicer 50mm f/1.7 M/A's.... funny how much difference just a half-1 stop of lens speed can make sometimes.... especially when even just above wide open, but bottom end on the other.... and have found it even extends up a few stops as well, even toward the middle (like f5.6-8) the faster lens still looks better |
