You shot this at iso 400 was this due to being in the P mode. I have opanda exif reader and it said "normal" so I guess that is what it is. It looks like you used the 18-55 kit lens as well and there is a slight vignetting at the top left of the picture. A bit of cloning will take that out.

The saturation is over the top for maybe some but I myself like it. It really pops and it is quite a nice scene shared here.

I like it, too. Makes me wish I was somewhere warmer!

Hi dafiryde,

I agree with Tom that the saturation is a bit over the top, but I also like it as it's appropriate for the view and subject. Less would probably not do the scene justice, and the bland coloration of the palmtree trunks and the rocks on the shoreline provide a saturation contrast that balances the bright colors. The photo really says "you really want to be here right now!

Nicely done!

Saturation appears to be overdone, but otherwise a beautiful composition. Another stop on my Bucket List. You are lucky to have visited such a beautiful location. Do post more if you have them!

Lovely! As I sit here with more snow on the ground today and now rain on top of that. I'm jealous.

Lovely shot. I am not sure that it IS oversaturated though. Colors in the Caribbean seem to pop more than here in FL. I know I have not seen the same shades in the water anywhere else. Was this taken on a cruise?

thanks guys for your comments, to answer a few

I was doing some indore shots and forgot to change the iso to 100 when i went outside. the lens i used is the pentax 16-50 f 2.8 as for the saturation, i shot it in raw and some how found that the extra sauration level gives it a little more snap:cool:

don't be jealous, i am from the caribbean and these days are reallllllllly hot , but nothing a good seabath wont fix on the weekends

Tim i look forward one day to go on a cruise, but it will be an Alaskan cruise

St. Lucia is really a beautiful island out fitted for tourism

Apart from that it's OK then.

Even if taken with the DA 18-55mm lens, I doubt whether vignetting would be a problem at f8. It's probably just the variation in the depth of that deep blue sky as seen across the top of the image on the right.

Saturation is perhaps a tad too high but that's down individual taste.

I'm not too sure if it is over saturated because I was in Trinidad and those are the colours that came out in my pictures. The caribbean is a really colourful place!

dafiryde, I noticed you are from T&T. I was there for 7 weeks last year, Great country! if you like to browse, here are my photos from T&T.
