The K110D and the K100D is the same camera but the K110D does not have the SR or Anti-Shake built into the camera. As far as I know, EVERYTHING is the same except the SR. Personally it is not worth getting the K110D unless if you are really low on cash. But even then the price difference was about $50 or so and is worth every penny. I would save up another $50 to buy the K100D.

Right now since the K100D Super is coming out, Pentax stop selling the K110D. You might still find it in the market if you really want it. The K100D Super adds SDM support and the dust shaking removel thing.

Myself I am very happy with my K100D.

Ok, thanks for the info on the k110d & k100d.
The K10d is way out of my range and looking for
something a bit less pricy. I had Pentax film
cameras many years ago and loved their quality.

I second the motion that to forget the K110 and look at the K100. It is an excellent and affordable dSLR. The shake reduction is well worth the minor extra cost.

The K110 will take nice pictures, but I LOVE having the SR on the K100. To me it was worth every penny of the extra money.

Another option you might consider if your budget is really limited is to look at buying a used DS or DL (no SR). My local camera store happens to have a couple of new DS2 cameras in stock - I didn't notice what they were selling for when I was in there Monday, but if you are interested, PM me and I'll stop by at lunch tomorrow. They have a website so you can order from them directly.

Mtngal, thanks a lot for the info and offer but think I will go ahead
and buy the k100d. I know the new super model is out soon and they
are unloading the older versions. I see Circuit City has them for
$525 now. Thats about as good as I can do, I think. Thanks again, Jim

If you wait for the K100DSuper, they are actually supposed to be the same price as the K100D. That way you will have SDM support and Dust Removal (would be really nice to have, as it saves a lot of RocketBlowing & SensorSwabbing)

I very nearly wentfor the K110D as it's nearly £100 ($200)cheaper thanthe K100Din the UK, but everywhere has phased it out to make room for the K100D Super as already mentioned, so I just went all the way to the K10D as it was only £100 more than the K100D Super.

I'm a little late to the party here, but I have one and I love it! I stayed away from the others just due to price and the fact that I thought the moving parts might give issues in a few years and I like to hang onto my gear for a while!

Jim, I recently bought the Pentax K110D at an irresistablesubstantial saving and having managed for just over 30 years with my Pentax SP2 without IS, I didn't see why I couldn't continue to do so with the 110.

What a fine cam it is and I am really pleased with it. I have a couple of genuine Pentax M42 to K-mount adaptors on order and I can hardly wait to see how my M42 lenses work. I have a 60-300mm zoom and that should be enough telephoto! I think my 50mm f/1.4 should be OK for low light portrature too.

I am amazed at the constructional and optical quality of the 18-55mm kit lens.

All in all a big
