Hi all
Everyone Thanks. This is Something I started to have an interest in doing About 2004. Since i got the DS, I have Been actively looking For lighthouses to photograph. A lot of them are in private hands Or are located In Spots only Accesable to the public by Boat. Here in Connecticut there are very few that can Be photographed Via Public road. Anyway I love finding them and photgraphing them "Markramsell" Thanks and i would truly love To Visit England. And while i am there, I Would love To Photograph Stonhedge. "Ira" Canada is another place i would love To visit also. Corpsy, no problem. thanks for Sharing With Me. "Robert Barnett" Excellent pictures also. "DMJJR" I am old enough (52). But I Never really saw it Before the move. And thanks on that tip for the light house tours out of Boston Harbour. I will look Into that!! I will post one more. This Shot is not the Best, as we were taking a high speed tour of Chicago Waterfront. But this light house guards the enterance To Chicago Harbour |

This is a neat thread! Phil - your lighthouse pictures are wonderful.
Robert - thanks for posting the pictures of the lighthouse on the Marin Headlands - looks like a neat place to visit. The only lighthouse that I knew about north of San Franciscois the one at Pt. Reyes - with its long staircase DOWN to it. I always expect lighthouses to be up, not down. |

Here is the one at Point Reyes. I made the mistake of going down that 30 story building worth of steps about 3 weeks after stomach surgery. I thought I would die coming backup.

Yah, that is a killer climb. The steps are shallow but there are so many of them. I don't know how the lighthouse keeper did it when the lighthouse was manned. Carrying things up and down. I know one thing, had I been the Lighthouse keeper there wouldn't have been any furniture, at least nothing I would want to take with me when I left. Only stuff I could chuck in to the ocean. I just would want to have to lug a sofa up that hill. Let the seals have it.
Now that would be funny seeing a red leather sofa floating around with seals on it. :? |

I have yet to go down that set of stairs - the last time we were there I thought about it, but my other half said "absolutely not!" Maybe next time we make it up there I'll try it.
