Limpkin

I have seen a lot of bird photos posted here but haven't seen anyone post one of these since I've been on the forum. So just to be different, here's a shot of a Limpkin that didn't seem to mind posing for me.:-)

So that is what those are called! I have a few shots of Limpkins from early on with my K100d and did not know their name. Your shot is mo' better though.

Tim, I didn't either when I shot this one! I've lived here for 20 years and this was the first one I'd seen up close. Now I see them all the time. Got some fair shots of a mother and her three young'ns I'll have to post some time.:bye:

Hey Penolta, Thanks for the kind words Pen. I agree they can be a little shy but, I was surprised to find some of them have become somewhat tame at this park. :-)
