I was browsing through od photo magazines couple days back and I came across one which featured location not so far from here. I decided I'll give it a try. so I woke up at 6.30 in the morning and armed with a thermos wit hot tea, ist DL2, K28mm f3.5, Vivitar 105mm Macro and a kit lens (just in case) I got in my car and drove 40 miles.
it's a ruined small abbey which was destroyed in 16th century after english king decided that he doesn't want roman catholic churches in England ![]() taken with K28 or kit lens, ND grad, polarizer and tripod it was freezing but I came back with those. any comments and tips welcomed 1 ![]() 2 ![]() 3 ![]() 4 ![]() 5 ![]() and few views aroud the village ![]() ![]() more at http://s63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...awley%20abbey/ greg |

Neat pictures - looks like a lovely spot for taking pictures.
Normally I would like the one where you added the warming filter, but I'm not so sure I really do prefer it. The one without the filter looks cold and frosty and from the first one, that's what it was really like, wasn't it? If you take that out of the equation, the one with the warming filter is nice, and you didn't over-do it (the effectisn't overpowering). |

Hi greg,
A good series of shots ... when I looked at the ones of the abbey I thought I recognised the place, but it was the river shots that confirmed things for me. Haven't been out that way for a while, my work used to take me into that area on odd occasions. ... Lovely countryside up there in the Rlbble valley. BTW I wouldn't like to choose between the two shots, I like both versions ... Jack. |

So here we have another member who is aiming for a steady job with the Tourist Board! Wouldn't surprise me if you get the job, well done Greg!
