I shot mine with a tripod and Tammy 18-250 with the Tammy 1.4 TC and it looked smaller than it did with the naked eye.... what did I do wrong?

Mike. that is a very cool shot. I like the jagged shapes of the lightning and the mountain. Kudos to the color and exposure as well!
