Beenphotographing Downy Woodpeckers nesting in a shady tree. A lttle boost in contrast on an underexposed shot and cleaning up the background and this is the result.

In spite of a lot of very strong entries this month my choices come down to this last page.
PDL's hummingbird in flicght is the most unique image here, to me at least. I would also give a second to DigitalGal for her humourous "bird on a bottle". Ira |

I am going with Tim (NonEntity!) for his shot with the asunset in the background. The profile of the parachute and pilot are very striking against that background.

I liked Intrepid Walker's entry when it was first posted, and still like it as my favorite since (to me) it best represents the silhouette art form. It conveys a mood that I cannot describe but can definitely feel. Ergo, my vote goes to Intrepid Walker!
Tim's (Non Entity's)image of thepara-sailor (sp?)defintely deserves an honorable mention! Nice job all! Jay |

A number of really equally strong entries this month - tough decision among 5 for me (Daz, Tim,Intrepid Walker, Rodney, and Driver3). I think DAZ's Seattle Hill is the most visually striking, but I will go with Driver3's solitary Egret - it evokes strong feeling of lonliness andisolation, and at the same time creates an aura ofpeace and serenity.

My vote goes to driver3 also - there's something about it thatappeals to me. There are a number of other pictures thatI love in this group, its a very diverse group and everyone should be proud of their entries (and yes, I think DigitalGal's bottle is wonderful, too).

Is Thursday, the 5th midnight EST too late to keep the voting open? Just figured maybe we should set a deadline to prevent confusion like last month.
I'll be back later to vote when I can look through the photos again. There are just too many I like. Patty |
