Work or home? Home is a 19" monitor that is 1280 x 1024. Or else a laptop set at 1280 x 768. The workstations at the office were recently upgraded. There are two 30" monitors set at 2560 x 1600. While I have to scroll occasionally at home, I don't have any trouble at work (5120 across two Dell ultrabrite monitors!). What I wouldn't give to have that set-up at the house...

I use a Samsung 19" LCD monitor. Its native resolution in higher, but I gear it down to 1024 X 768 to make it easier for me to read text. Occasionally, I have to scroll a little, but not to an objectionable level.

I am currently using a 15" laptop with a 17" NEC LCD monitor attached, both set at 1024 X 768. The NEC is not large but is a very good screen, the old Acer laptop's screen is not very bright (cannot really be used to adjust contrast or colour) but is quite sharp. I will keep the NEC when I upgrade computers in a few months time. It requires a little scrolling at this resolution.

It's worth remembering that if you're using Windows the F11 key toggles 'full screen' on & off, which gives quite a bit more viewable space in Internet Explorer.Itswitches off several of the menu &statusbars, etc. This minimises the need for scrolling.

Laptop = 1280*768
PC = 1024*768 :shock: The PC will be getting an upgrade, and hopefully a 22" monitor, in the new year though! :-) |

Dell widescreen 24" LCD set to 1920x1200 here. The real estate is nice for post processing photographs but it really makes a difference in online computer games.
