P.S. Didn't quite finish before I hit "send." These small communities are really islands of personal property surrounded by miles of Los Padres National Forest. Elevations of the communities range from around 4,000 feet up to over 6,500 feet,and nearbyMt. Pinos, the highest spot in Los Padres, is over 8,800 feet.
The other big terrain feature that runs through the middle of the area is the San Andreas Fault. So take your pick of disasters - brush fires or earthquakes. |
