Both nice but #2. The lack of the trees in the foreground plus the exposure cutting out the other trees in the background simplify the overall image. The more orange tone from the exposure is more soothing, too.

Tough choice, Kjell. Both would look nice up on the wall.

Kjell...the first one would be a winner without the tree limbs on the side....No 2 to me is more stark and doesn't have the depth of the first one plus I like the line in the first running left to right...Gives it a more natural look as if I am standing in that spot looking at this scene live. Both are very good and with out the "side by side" comparison would be accepted as very very good. Just one old Dawg's opinion.

Thanks all for the constructive and extensive comments. They go in line with my own view. It was a pity I didn't have the time to walk a little closer for the first shot, to get rid of those branches. Would just have taken a minute, but it would have taken an hour to go home and change clothes and shoes afterwords. Work is a time-thief!To the right was a light pole.
What I like myself about these pictures is the near-sepia-look, even though they are both full colour shots. Contrast enhanced with the levels adjustment in RSP (Raw Shooter Premium). Anyone else still use that RAW converter? Kjell |

I really like the second one. The first one's good, but the second to me is outstanding.

Kjell
I did not do the moding on It. It basically is just modified So that it opens the K100d and K10D Pictures To be worked on. The features are the same. However for some reason it works for some people and it will Not work for others. Personally It works just fine for me. Phil |

Hmm, bummer. I tried to find RSP and it turns out adobe bought them out so now you have to buy lightroom to get the technology, not for 59 bucks mind you
