Very cool series, Ruth!! I really like your use of the Monument. One of tip links that someone posted earlier this week suggested to use a landmark in firework shots & you did this marvelously. I was hoping to use the Arch here in St. Louis but ...maybe next year.

I can't believe you were actually there--I was watching the show on TV and was wishing I could have been there to photograph the fireworks. Great pictures--especailly the last one with the awesome lighting on the monument! Jay

Wonderful shots - love the last two with the lit monument. Not sure I'd want to be there, though - too crowded for me. How did you manage to keep people from bumping into the camera?

it wasn't bad actually, we were on the last part of the mall before the road that goes around the monument. We staked out our area a few hours before darkness and found a place by some tents so we had our back to the tents; didn't have to block other peoples views. Most ppl stayed put while the display was on and we had our little space to bumping wasn't an issue either....
