I tried to capture some lightning from last nights thunderstorm, and I am wondering how I could make them better. All I did was set up the camera and take random pics and hope something happened. I set the camera to TV and the exposeure to 30.
I live in the ground floor of an apartment building and it does not get very dark here, and my only line of sight for these pics have a brightly lite parking lot in my way. To me these pics look grainy. Is there a way to fix that? This on edited only using the I'm feeling lucky button in Picasa2 |

Hi Graham, I had a play with your first one in Photoshop ... I don't find them grainy I did try some noise filtering, and couldn't detect any difference from before and after, so I abandoned that. I've reset levels and added some contrast with curves, what do you think ?. BTW I'm prety sure I can detect dust on your sensor. ... Jack

That looks prett good. I was hoping to have attended the local college this summer and take some classes to learn how to use some the software packages available for photo editing, but I'll have to waiy til fall. In some pics they look grainy or perhaps I should say blochy. Am I using the wrong term?
I also noticed the dust thing, I'm hoping it was just a rain drop, but I will check it out later today. |
