Just when all looked dim and miserable, it appears Sigma have releasedsome new kit.
Sigma EF530DG Super http://www.sigma-photo.co.jp/english/news/070720_ef530_dg_super.htm Sigma EM-140 DG ring flash http://www.sigma-photo.co.jp/english/flash/flash_140dg.htm PA-PTTL (PENTAX) Availability will be announced later. Well at least we know something is coming. |

Hi Crash,
Thanks for the heads-up on these. I had noticed the 530 annoucement, but not the ring flash -- looks like we'll finally get a ring flash option for the K series bodies. Don't know if I'll get one, but at least there's the option. . . Scott |

well after searching all i could find was the price in pounds stearling.
129 & 229 which to me is pretty steep for a flash with a GN of only 53. i know this is the MSRP and that street prices will be lower. roy |

I think that the GN in the release is being expressed in meters, which makes it around 165 in feet -- I've been fooled by this before also. Scott Edit: . . . and the price ($259 USD) indicate that the 530 looks to be a replacement for the 500 Super -- about the same specs and price. . . The ring flash at $471 isn't a surprise, but I'd probably pass and look for a used TTL ring to use with the DS, or just stick with using a regular external on a bracket. |
