Been almost a month since we heard from mtngal?
Maybe it has something to do with this coronavirus scare?

Yes and no. The no part is that I’m frustrated with the DFA 70-210f4, though I think I have sorted out the technical part of it on one of my cameras (bad front focusing). I haven’t worked much on the other camera. I spent my last day in Valley of Fire and wasn’t happy with any of the photos I took, so I ignored them for a week.

The yes part is that I went to Vegas to resupply 2 days before they shut the city down - the 2 big-box stores I went to unnerved me enough I headed changed my plans completely and headed back to where I had been before going to Overton.

A piece of Arizona desert, spending a week with friends:

Arizona sunrise after they left:

Not exactly a prosperous town about 60 miles away:

Don’t think the driver is going to get much gas at this station.

A different piece of Arizona desert. While the area where we are is pretty deserted, off in the distance you can see an area that has a lot of people still occupying it.

I took a walk (needed some exercise) today and took the KP and DFA70-210 f4. I took some random pictures along the aptly named Pipeline Road. I wanted to take a fresh look at it, to see if it was still front focusing.

I’ve just started using smugmug and I’m not entirely sure how it all works. Here’s a link to a photo I’ve uploaded. If I understand how it works (and the fact the photo is open to anyone), I think that if you click on the link, there’s a link on the left to download the original. The original I uploaded is a SOOC jpg (I actually remembered to shoot one photo as raw+).

Can someone try it and let me know that you can really see the original, full-sized file? Link is: Pipeline Photo ?

Thanks!

Thanks! Yes, the link a SOOC jpg, so full sized and a huge file. Too big to link, but I was interested in whether it worked that way - I may use that link for a Pentax specific forum, where I’ve been grumbling about the lens and wanted to be able to have a downloadable SOOC file that anyone could download to see what I was talking about.

Jack - The link was for a different photo - the sunrise had been processed. I was interested if someone could download or view the original full-sized file of the one I linked to. You gave the dimensions of the one I wanted to know about, but did you try to view the file outside of the browser? Thatís what I wanted to know - Iíve been really struggling with this lens, for several reasons and was thinking Iíd post on an active Pentax forum for advice about whatís going on.

Glad you liked my sunrise, Arizona can occasionally offer some dramatic skies once in a while - if you are currently in Tacoma I bet you are envious of my days and days of sunshine.

I got out of Tacoma just in time as big cities like Seattle/Tacoma are NOT the place to be in with this virus that's killing people, like 594 overnight in NY. I now live in the country 40 miles away from Tacoma. We sold our house last year during the housing market buyers boom. Then bought a nice place in the country south east of Puyallup. Just now setting up my bird paradise in the backyard.

I guess I'd better upgrade my profile here.

LOL! Maybe I should change mine, since I no longer live in Frazier Park. But Iíll leave it as it is, since I have no place else to list. At the moment itís the desert. When it gets too hot here, who knows?

Hi Harriet. I haven't been following this forum like I used to, it is time to come back. Glad to see that you are having a good time with your travel and your new toys. Keep me in mind if you keep heading east. Great shots by the way.
