The weather here being absolutely horrid, cold and windy makes for not a good time to try to find pictures of birds. and since I was getting a tad bored with birds, thought I would experiment. Walked around the neighborhood with the K10D and the new to me Tamron SP 24 -135mm macro I added the 1.4X TC just to see how it would work, It did let me back off a little from the subject which is nice seeing as how the bones dont bend so well anymore.
A flower in my neighbors yard. ![]() Some kind of weird bud or flower was in a bunch of Cactus ![]() and something for you people that are covered by the white stuff, something you dont see this time of year. ![]() Terry |

Very good results to my eye. One question and am sorry for picking your brain but-----with the 1.4 tele mounted do you find the manual focus ring to be significantly more stiff to turn? Combined with my Tam 18-250 I have noticed this and wonder about undo strain on the motor. Thanks for any input.

no I dont see any undo stain when manual focusing with the 1.4X attached. A question? do you swith to manual focus before you try to focus it, when its in AF there is a lot of strain.

Very nice series. Your second one is a familiar plant - there are a number of different varieties in the botanical garden I often wander around. I've never had much luck taking pictures of them, and haven't particularly noticed what type of desert plant they are attached to. I'll have to notice next time I'm there...
