Hey, at least I got out of the house for a bit. The Junko's found the bird feeder in the 6" we got last night.

Tom, so that is where the Junco's went. They left here (SW Ontario) about a week ago. We've had Robins for about 2 weeks, and many others moving in: Red Wing Blackbirds, Killdeer, Cedar Waxwings. I will be trying to document as many as I can with my new LBA (can't spoil it yet). What lens were you using?
Cheers! Dan |

Dan, I was using the DS with a FA*80-200mm on those and a FA*300mm on these!

Isn't it supposed to be "April Showers"? They don't say "April Snow". Love the picture, but I do feel sorry for that poor, cold-looking robin.

I have a feeling that you like the weather just as much as those poor birds do. The one who waits for something good always has to wait for too long.

A friend said he saw a robin a few days ago, I'm not sure I believe it. Just chickadees and house sparrows here (the juncos seem to have dissappeared). This is what I got up to this morning. Yes, those blotches are big white snowflakes.

Well, just think of all the wonderful greenery and flowers you'll get when spring finally does arrive - you won't have to worry about draught conditions for a while. And the threat of forest fires will be low for quite a while. And you'll appreciate all that riot of color when spring does finally come. See, there's always a silver lining if you think hard enough.

I feel for you. Tom. You guys have the mother of all winters.
Those are looking good. It is really hard to have any contrast when the light is so flat. style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I left the mountains out west because I got tired of winter. I remember how much I used to HATE scraping the windshield. style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I agree with Harriet, when it does get to be spring, it will come with a vengance! style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Dennis |
